The world's largest offshore wind farm linked to the onshore receiving station by an HVDC cable system from ABB and porcelain insulators from CERALEP.

Situated 125 km far from the German coast in the North Sea, the 400 MW offshore windfarm  Borkum 2 is the farest from the continent.

E.ON Netz GmbH chose for this project ABB technology using an AC underwater cable system and CERALEP for the supply of insulators on both sites :

-  in the receiving station of  Diele / GERMANY  (75 km from the coast)

-  in the offshore station in the North Sea

Insulators supplied (C6-750-Cl2, C6-550-Cl3,C6-950-Cl3,C6-1050-Cl4).
